Therapeutics is a treatment program that eliminates or relieves disturbances of the body.  It is also useful for establishing the previous level of normal health. We can treat symptoms or disease. If we talk about treating only symptoms, we call it symptomatic therapy. If, on the other hand, we treat or remove causes of the disease, then it is causal therapy. There are many different types of therapeutics, but the most common categorization is therapy: by drugs, food, ultrasound, electro-therapy, laser, and kinesiotherapy.

Drugs - One of the most common types of therapy in humans is drug therapy. There are different categories of drugs, such as antibiotics, analgesics, antipyretics, antiseptics, antihistamines etc. Each of these groups solve different types of medical problems. If we have a problem with allergies, we treat it with antihistamines. If we have problem with pain, we use analgesics. Finally, if more complex problems exist, such as problems with bacteria, we use antibiotics.

Ultrasound- Ultrasound is used in physical therapy primarily as a therapeutic agent. When we talk about its action we talk about micro massage, mechanical compaction and stretching of tissue, and movement of individual particles of tissue. The most important action of the ultrasound is heat. Mechanical energy is transmitted through the ultrasound to the tissue, and is converted into heat, especially between soft tissues and bones. Ultrasound is a procedure that can heat to the deeper parts of the tissue within the musculoskeletal system, and the application of ultrasound is often referred to as ultrasound diathermy.

Laser - Nowadays, laser has a huge use in operating and invasive treatment. Aside from this, it is used in sports injuries due to overuse, cartilage damage in the available joints (such as knee), damage or chronic inflammation of other soft tissues, as well as help in overgrowth of open wounds, and as a stimulator at acupuncture points instead of needles or finger pressure. Laser is most effective in combination with other treatments. Laser has upsides and downsides, but when we sum it all up, laser has valuable and positive use and effect on patients.

Electrotherapy – This method uses electricity to treat diverse medical problems. The most common use of electrical devices, such as brain stimulators, is in neurological and orthopedics disease.

Kinesiotherapy – Kinesiotherapy is an integral part of physical medicine and rehabilitation, using movement as a method of treatment for rheumatology (inflammatory, degenerative and non-articular rheumatism). It has a crucial role in treatment of orthopedic, rheumatologic and neurologic disease. In addition, it also plays an important role in different types of lung and heart disease. All generations can use kinesiotherapy - it is useful to improve general health.
